Introducing Pathlight Badges
Our mission at Pathlight is to empower everyone to achieve their professional best. Tens of millions of people have had their professional careers impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. We hope Badges can help a small portion of them get back on their feet, faster.

Our careers are driven by the sum of our accomplishments. Whether we’re aiming for a promotion, a raise, a new job, or even an industry change, managers will often reference past accomplishments to evaluate future potential.
Yet when you leave a company – whether voluntarily or laid off like so many this year – it’s hard to take your accomplishments with you. You lose access to the data that proves your success, and your manager’s memory of specific accomplishments can slowly fade. As a result, it’s harder to set yourself apart as you find your next role.
At Pathlight, we believe that hard work should be accretive: your achievements today should directly help you land that new job or promotion tomorrow. We also believe that your accomplishments deserve more than a single line of text on your résumé or LinkedIn profile.
Verified, certified success
Today we’re excited to release Pathlight Badges – a new way to celebrate and memorialize success. Think of Badges like publicly hosted certificates, verified by data and colleagues. It’s a digital replacement for that trophy on your desk or bullet point on your résumé and LinkedIn and profile. We built Badges to encourage two things:

Badges are designed to be shared, because success is meant to be celebrated. They can be downloaded as images or shared as webpages. They can be added to your résumé or automatically shared to your LinkedIn profile or network. Soon, you’ll even be able to request physical versions.
Badges are designed to create trust through verifications and public links. First, Badges can be verified by managers and peers who still work at your company. Badges can also be verified by data that is either synced from the Pathlight platform or uploaded and reviewed by our team. The more verifications a badge has, the more trustworthy it is. Second, each badge has a unique ID that matches to a unique, public webpage. As result, Badges are hard to fake. Anytime you want to verify a badge, just go to it’s URL and make sure it matches up.

Free for everyone
Our goal at Pathlight is to help everyone achieve their professional best. While we had originally designed Badges for our customers, we know that people who aren't using Pathlight today have wins to celebrate and accomplishments that they want to take with them, and we wanted to make it easy for them to do exactly that.
Tens of millions of people have had their professional careers impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. We hope Badges can help a small portion of them get back on their feet, faster.
So starting today, anyone can create a Badge – either for themselves or for someone else – to commemorate their success and help them progress in their career. Badges are completely free. No account required.
To get started, just go to pathlight.com/b/ and create your first Badge.
Please send us your feedback. We have big plans for future iterations of Badges and would love your feedback on what is working and what is not. How can we help you achieve your professional best? Please let us know! Email us at contact@pathlight.com.
